Leave it to Yeezy to debut a song by projecting his face on 66 buildings across the world in 10 cities (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, London, Berlin, and Sydney, with most or all cities featuring multiple locations). In his hometown of Chicago, it was on a wall of Wrigley Field. It’s a pretty uncomfortable but honest song, tackling racial stereotypes and hometown stories.

With an upcoming album (supposedly June 18) and a spot on SNL tonight (check it out for me as I’m abroad), this is definitely a sweet taste. I really like the live performances he’s been up to, debuting upcoming and new songs, such as at the Met Gala and in the Roseland Ballroom. The show at the Met was apparently fantastic, according to a friend. He owned the show and yelled “I’m a God!” (saw it on Vine). It’s been kinda hard to find a solid video of “New Slaves” (probably because it’s being taken down) but the one above is from the Williamsburg premiere.

I feel like such a jerk. This past week was a whirlwind, and I’ve been holding this atmospheric and absolutely electro-chill of Lana in my music file. It almost reminds me of this Titanic/Bond feel (Gatsby hasn’t come out in Brazil yet, sorry) and it’s absolutely stunning. The song itself SWELLS. How many producers can make that happen? 2013 is Madeaux‘s year.

The Weeknd brings us the title track of his upcoming album, “Kiss Land”. If you’re a fan of the Weeknd, you may have heard the preview of the song ‘John Carpenter’ earlier this week, which is the second half of this 8 minute song. Both are equipped with sick instrumentals and vocals that certainly do not disappoint. “Kiss Land” should be a dope album.
